Clamato Info

The following information was taken from Mott's website.
It details the general facts surrounding this mind-bogglingly delicious beverage.

I'm sure you will find it to be a interesting read, but more than that, I'm sure that by the time you're done reading, you will be salivating for a precious drop of its oh-so-good liquid. Just like I am...mmmm....clamato....

Clamato
Key Facts
Clamato is a light and refreshing zesty drink with a blend of tomatoes, onions, celery, spices and a dash of clam.

Varieties include:
Clamato Tomato Cocktail
Clamato Picante (mildly spicy)
(In Canada, I saw a Mexican Spicy version, though it wasn't very popular. Also, in Canada, we enjoy Extra Spicy instead of the toned-done Mildly Spicy Amercian version.)

History
Clamato Tomato Cocktail was introduced by Mott’s in 1969. With Clamato came an entirely new and unexpected juice category: seafood blends. The innovative Clamato is the #1 selling seafood blend from the frozen plains of northern Canada to the sunny shores of southern Mexico.
One key force driving Clamato’s popularity is the Bloody Caesar Cocktail. This Canadian invention, created by Walter Chell to celebrate the opening of Marco’s in Alberta, is Canada’s favorite cocktail. More than 250 million Mott’s Clamato Caesars are sold each year throughout North America.

Bloody Caesar

One of the reasons why Clamato has grown to heroic proportions in Canada is because of how good a Bloody Caesar tastes!

The Bloody Caesar, the Canadian counterpart to the lesser Bloody Mary, is a sublime concoction of the blessed Clamato, with chilled vodka, a splash of tabasco, a splash of Worcestershire sauce and garnished with a lemon or lime as well as a leafy sprig of crunchy cellulose: celery. This ambrosian drink is best when rimmed with Clamato Rimmer, not just your usualy celery salt, but a delightful blend of spices and herbs.

Oh, Bloody Caesar...you taste bloody good!

Clamato Forever!

This blog is my homage to the great Mott's Clamato.

Never has there been a better drink to unite Canadian countrymen all over the globe than the rubylicious Mott's Clamato. The red liquid is sweet and savory - simply sublime, and once it touches my lips, it conjures up memories of happier days gone by, and hope - that one day, I will partake of the precious clam/tomato juice again.

Oh Clamato, I do love you.
